Internet Accessible OPC UA Servers

Advosol maintains Internet accessible OPC UA servers intended to give the opportunity to:

  • look into the UA (Unified Architecture) technology without having to install servers locally
  • test the capabilities of UA servers built with the Advosol OPC UA server toolkit
  • enable client developers to make interoperability tests

The Internet accessible UA servers support only Data Access functionality. They are configured for secure access and require the proper certificates installed on the client machine. The certificates are in the ZIP file that can be downloaded below.
- The server certificate is provided with only the public key as it is to be provided by the server operator
- The client certificate is provided with the private key as from a Certificate Authority. This certificate is already installed at the server machine so that no activities are required on the server machine. With this procedure all clients use the same certificate and cannot be individually identified.

The diagram shows the Internet accessible UA servers:

Both OPC UA serves are built with the Advosol uaPLUS server toolkit.
One UA server is configured to additionally require user credentials.

OPC .NET 3 (Express Interface (Xi) ) specifies a .NET application interface (API) for multiple OPC specifications. To show the UA server access through the OPC .NET 3 API there is an Internet accessible Xi server that handles access to one of the UA servers. The Xi server is configured to require user credentials but no certificates.
